How lovely of you. I'd like some notice to get packed and organised. Prescriptions sorted etc.

My husband did a surprise like this for me to NY , found out when we pulled up at Heathrow , it was an amazing surprise but I was slightly freaked out , he had packed all the wrong stuff bless him , forgot essentials that I would have liked to have had .. part of the fun is getting excited , so even if I just knew 2 days before I would have preferred it reallly , definitely not on the way to airport unless you want to cause panic and stress lol

I would love to be surprised on the day! I could trust my dh to pack for me, and anything else can be picked up in Florida. I'm fairly sure he would even remember my medications.
How lovely congratulations

What's her stress levels like before a holiday? If she's totally chilled, day before packer and can walk out the door as she is and not do a burglar clean then I would surprise her. If not, then tell her as soon as, if only 6 weeks to go I would be at mega excitement level.

Your wife doesn't know when her 25th wedding anniversary is?
I thought it was only men that forgot things like that? (Congratulations on the anniversary, btw!)

Wow, op I think you planning a surprise anniversary is a wonderful thing to do!
I would, personally, love be surprised the evening before. I'm sure if your wife requires medication, certain specific holiday creams etc., you already know what they are, and could find a way to get them. As another few posters suggested, you could arrange for hair, brows, nails or whatever your wife would usually get done before a trip in the days running up to your departure date. This could be under the pretence of an anniversary treat before a pretend special meal or some other small outing; that would take care of that. You could ensure all clothes are washed and dry and the cases are out, so all your wife would have to do is throw what she needs in her case; which we could all do in no time if we wanted to. If you wanted to leave it as a surprise for as long as possible but still give your wife a chance to prep her own bag, it could be done. Good luck with it, I'm sure she'll de delighted you that you have taken the care and time to plan a great trip!

I think it depends on your wife - only you know how she will react to surprises. I think a minimum of two weeks because she might want to shop or go to various salons etc.
I know I am very strange but I absolutely hate surprises - even nice surprises - so the longer notice I got the better. I would prefer to know the day you booked if not before . |

Lovely surprise! I'd make something special out of the surprise a week or two in advance so that she has time to get ready (which will then make her more comfortable while you're away) and so you can enjoy some planning/anticipation together and because an on-the-spot surprise of something so big can be a bit stressful. ...Enjoy the occasion of the surprise and enjoy the holiday!
