Where to visit on drive back to Miami Airport?

Hi all.
Looking at getting back to Miami airport at about 5pm for our flight home at 8.00, but was wondering where to visit on the way down from Orlando to break the trip up?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

We usually stop at Vero Beach, there's a fab place called Mulligans Beach Bar which is right on the beach. Good, reasonably priced food and fabulous views!

We also love Deerfield Beach, which is a bit closer. We stayed there on arrival night last year and staying there the night before we leave this year.

Fab question was going to ask this myself for Monday

We recently drove down the day before and prepositioned at Naples as we dont like being a 4 hour drive to the Airport on the morning of departure. We visited the Lovely Delnor Wiggins State park and then ate in 'The Yardhouse'. It was excellent.

Next day we drove 4/5 of the remaining Tamiami Causeway to Buffalo Tigers Airboat rides. It was absolutely nothing like the offerings around Orlando and we all agreed it was best ever.

Like you, our flight was around 1700.

We have to check out of hotel in Orlando at 11am on Sunday morning and taking car back to Miami airport at around 8:20pm. Currently wondering what to do and whether we should get a late check out of hotel or make the journey down to make sure we get there, possibly stopping somewhere but we will Have at least 2 hours to kill even if we stop for food so no idea what to do that won’t leave us all hot and bothered for the flight!

We go to Sawgrass Mills outlet, last min shopping fix

We went to sawgrass last time when flying from Fort Lauderdale.

This time we visited dolphin mall which is 20mins from miami airport and huge.

Both have a Cheesecake Factory!

We have pencilled in the Dolphin Mall too, never been before, but looks good & as you said it’s got Cheesecake
