Mobile My encounter with 3 teenage boys

This afternoon I went for a walk with my two boys (Aged 14 & 7). We had just walk out of the park and I could see a elderly lady up ahead and three boys on bikes, definitely older than my son so I would throw a guess at 16 years old. They was on the opposite side of the road but crossing towards our side.

The elderly lady tripped and fell, badly, her hands were full with bags therefore the back of her head hit the ground.
All three lads quickly rode over to the lady, jumped off their bikes and went to her aid. One lad gently helped the lady into a sitting position whist getting a tissue from her bag.
I then arrived with more tissues, her head was bleeding badly. The lads stayed whilst i was on the phone for an ambulance, the one lad who was stopping the bleeding helped and dod what the medic told me on the phone. They stayed throughout, looking concerned and really helping.

I do not know these boys but if I did I would make a point to speak to their parents to give a big thank you.
What absolutely lovely lads! Very mature and handled the situation brilliantly.
The lady did go to hospital, i think she would have needed stitches or her head glueing as the cut was deep and bled an awful lot.

I know we are all social distancing, two boys did hang back with the bikes but myself and one lad did need to get pretty close as she was bad. She had no phone and alone.

Bit of a pointless post but teenagers, especially boys do get some stick for being either a snowflake or a hooligan. So just a shout out for the boys!

An amazing thing to do, and that is for you and the young lads. I’d be tempted to put a post on social media and possibly someone local to you might see it and know the young boys. I agree, youngsters do get a lot of stick and it would be lovely for them to have some positive thanks and know they helped today.

I am not on so social media bit my friend is. Maybe thats an idea.
They were there for an hour. The blood was gushing and they handled it amazingly.
I actually feel quite emotional about it. I would be mightily proud if it was one of my children. It would have been so easy to just ride away.
It was heartwarming.
The lady was blown away by their actions too

Great story! And lovely to hear 😁. I'd definitely try and post on social media, as a parent I'd be delighted to know this!

That is lovely and I agree boys do get a bad rap, my kids two boys and a girl are good kids and would always help out if they could. The same doesn’t apply to me they hide but then do what is needed two hours later x
