Family Fun in the Sun - Day 30 Busch Gardens

Day 30 – Busch Gardens Sunday August16th 2009

I wasn’t really sure about going to Busch Gardens today with it being a Sunday, but I gave in and said we’d go anyway.

We set off at 9.00am and stopped at Denney on I4 for breakfast, this took a while for some reason and we didn’t get to Busch Gardens until 11.45am. The car park was busy but the park was quiet today and it was actually a good choice to come, the wait times for rides most of the day were only 20-25 minutes.

Hannah and Lauren went off to do the big coasters and we gave them a phone so we could keep in touch. The rest of us went to land of dragons and Jess went on all the rides twice, everything was walk on.

Then off to sky ride and back again as Jess wanted to see the animals from the sky. We met up with Hannah and Lauren at jungala and had an ice cream and frozen drinks. Hannah and Lauren then went off again and we decided to head back to land of dragons, it was then the heavens opened and my word did it rain. We had nowhere to shelter and by time we reached land of dragons we were soaked – dropped in the bath type soaked, Hannah and Lauren rang us to say they’d been caught in the rain and were dripping so we arranged to meet them in the shop at the entrance. We bought a towel and a blanket, waited for the girls and then headed for the car. All 3 girls dried themselves off and then stripped and wrapped themselves in blankets and towels, Scott and I remained soaked, it wasn’t a pleasant journey home, thankfully though it didn’t take long.

We were back home an hour and 5 minutes later, where we showered and then headed straight back out to Romano’s on 192. Hannah and Lauren had a create your own past and shared that and a salad. Jess had kids pizza, Scott and I shared bruschetta – gorgeous, then Scott had sicillian pizza and I had Cappelini Pomodora all lovely. With 2 diet cokes, 2 beers and 2 wines a grand total of $75 with tip. Romano’s is definitely one of our favorite eating places and it has always been consistently very good.

When we got back the girls watched Sleepless in Seattle before bed and Scott and I watched Wild Hogs.

Nice day shame about the rain. We went just a couple of weeks ago for the first time and really enjoyed Bush Gardens.
