The only time noise has been an issue for me was when we stayed at the Contemporary when the noise from Chef Mickeys was quite disturbing from early on until late-ish but obviously it is not until really late.

But I think it is pot luck really, there is the potential for noise wherever you stay, I wouldn’t factor it into my decision making process.

Our experience at Disney hotels is mixed. I found All Stars Sport very noisy outside the room in the morning, people would let their kids run up and down, then shout at them really loudly “bud it’s time for breakfast “ etc, you get the idea.
No problems at what was Dixie Landings, Wilderness Lodge or Coronado. At POFQ, the first time I found the toilet flushing really loud and you could hear everyone’s around you (weird), we went again and I asked for a top floor corner room and it was great.

I prefer villas for this reason, and if staying in a hotel, will normally book a split stay. You can never know what your neighbours will be like wherever you stay, so it really can be down to how considerate everyone is around you or how heavy a sleeper you are!

Worst we have had was Royal Pacific Resort, it was a Halloween Horror Night and loads of people came back from that very drunk, shouting to/at each other. Security weren't very pro active at dealing with it.

We haven’t really experienced significant noise at a Disney resort but then we go in September and I wouldn’t stay there during the months when there are school trips or cheerleading competitions for example. We had noisy neighbours last time at CSR for a few days but it was only when they were leaving the room as they seemed to feel the need to call back to each other and go back a forth a dozen times. Nothing at night.

Worst noise at night for us was when we were staying at CSR where we couldn't sleep due to the flipping frogs... sounded like people screeching at each other. Ear plugs deployed for the rest of the week!

Onsite we've stayed at Y&BC many times and AKL x 2 - we've only had noise twice for a couple of nights, both when we had a connecting room door in the room and had families with kids 'on the other side'. The corridors and resorts have all been very quiet at night.
At POFQ we found that as the doors open 'motel style' directly onto the outside we could hear people chatting when walking past - but not late at night and not loudly.

That's exactly what we were thinking, on nights like this on resort for events that potentially go on until the early AM hours and obviously the early risers for the 6AM park admissions.

Funnily enough even though most of these events went on during the time we were there on all 7 occasions, we never had any issues, but then again we werent on site, so I would imagine that could make a huge difference?

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I think maybe next time (when we are eventually allowed in) does anybody know what's going on with that by the way lately as not been following much? I think maybe opting in for a motel style again or maybe a Villa is the way to go, as internal corridors and some onsite guests from your reading could be a problem.

By the way are Villas very quiet? I would imagine they are very nice as we have never stayed in one as yet, but do you ever get parties next door, or does that tend not to happen?

I would imagine you don't have onsite staff or security as much as you do onsite so should the worst happen, is there anyone you can contact about that?

We mainly stay in villas, we had a problem with noisy people once so asked the Management company for advice, they told us to call the sheriffs office, they send someone out and we had no more problems after that.

This is the only time we have needed to do in lots of trips.

We've stayed in 3 different villas over 5 trips and have never had noise issues, but we choose the position of the villas carefully and try to get one with the pools overlooking a lake or reserve area. In some villa communities the pools overlook each other and I wouldn't be keen on that.
