We got our first gas bbq this summer and although I prefer the taste of charcoal one we have used the gas one far more than we ever used the charcoal. Its right outside my kitchen back door so even if we are eating inside I use it grill steaks etc so the house doesnt smell ! And an added bonus my youngest quite likes doing the cooking on it so I dont have to bother !

Here goes!

Neither, I detest the flavour of barbecued food and refuse to have a barbecue.
However that's just me and as I do all the cooking the Family haven't experienced it either apart from when the kids were maybe 4 or 5.

Lasted 1 season and I slung it.

So the only BBQ you might experience Mr T, is when you are getting your hair cut and there are a few gents in front of you?

I prefer charcoal but we have a gas one so I voted that as we actually use the gas bbq loads more than we ever did our charcoal one. Its so quick and easy so can have a bbq in the week and this summer my friend brought me a pizza oven that goes on the bbq so that is getting lots of use too. 🍕

I dont have a bbq.

My favourite is my sisters - its nice to have someone hand me a plate of sausages and glass of wine in their garden on a sunny afternoon.

We love our barbecues and have them all the time even in winter if we can get away with it. We have both gas and charcoal but mainly use the gas one for ease.
I particularly like them because barbecues in my house are a man thing and it is the only meal I dont cook.

A true BBQ is a smoker, like a Weber Smokey Mountain or Big Green Egg. BBQ was introduced into USA by the slaves, who only had access to cheap tough cuts of meat and thus had to smoke the food, low and slow, in a pit. This is what you'll get if you go to a true BBQ restaurant.
The Americans will not call what is being described above as a BBQ. They'll call it, correctly, a grill.
The word BBQ is wrongly used by other countries including UK and Australia where a grill has become a barbecue and the food cooked on one as being barbecued food. It isn't.
A gas grill is an abomination.
Buy a real BBQ, the food is infinitely better.
Sorry to be a boring fart by the way, but I smoke ribs, brisket, pork shoulder etc and can't help myself :-)
