Cant really offer positive recommendations, but Ive used Tui once and did worry what might happen if there was a problem (there wasnt as it happened) and Ive just booked with VH solely because of their good price and I have to say the advisor I spoke to was very helpful, Im going to buck the trend on My Magic Holidays, I wasnt impressed either with the price or their refusal to email me a quote, which is apparently their company policy because prices can change, I totally understand that, imo you just need a disclaimer on said email x

As someone who suddenly found themselves in hospital for 3 months on a ventilator last summer and my husband having to cancel holidays these are our observations:

TUI - wouldnt speak to my husband as I was lead passenger, despite being told I was on a ventilator and my surgeon trying to speak with them. Put us down as "no shows" on our July holiday, we should also have holidayed in the Sept with them and I was still in hospital... again wouldnt speak to anyone other than me (even though I was still on drips, blood transfusions in hospital). Absolute nightmare to deal with.

Virgin Holidays - had to cancel a holiday that had been booked for earlier this year as was by then on chemotherapy. They instantly offered to amend the booking, cancel it or do whatever we wanted. We couldnt decide as I had just started chemo so they cancelled the booking. When I subsequently rang in July to book for September they couldnt do enough for me. Lounge access foc, special assistance organised, extra luggage allowance foc for medical equipment I need, deposit from original holiday lost was transferred over onto the new booking. Medical seats allocated for us. Both hotels notified not only of my medical needs, but also the fact its my birthday whilst we are there. So far I've also amended our first week from Rosen @ Pointe to Rosen Plaza, Ive changed my room type at HRH. All with minimal fuss and lots of help and advice from VH

M&S Travel Insurance - amazing! Paid out for both the holidays that Tui disputed that we tried to cancel (despite both my husband and surgeon having tried to speak and email with them).

Its only when you are ill that you actually find out how good these companies are.

Most of my communication with MMH was via email, including pricing, so thats strange. I know during the release of Disney dining they like to deal with people over the phone, likely due to being so busy Id expect. Ive also booked with VH before and found them fine, but I didnt have any problems so who knows. I do know Ive been a pain with MMH, changing dates, flights, use of reward flights and separating bookings to do so! I was a pain and nothing was too much effort for Myha and Mattie who were both fantastic!

I would also recommend My Magic Holiday, have booked with them twice now and the customer service is 2nd to none. If there's something that MMH doesn't know then it's probably not worth knowing! :-) Mattie, Myah and Richard are all fabulous and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Dunx ;-)

Yes, Id read the positive comments hence making the enquiry, it was in the last few weeks so not when the free ddp was released, Ive just gone back on the email and the words used were we do not email quotes because of live pricing so prices can change anyway their loss as I went to VH and surprisingly got a great price x

Thomas Cook in our town have always been so helpful and friendly. They look out for the best deals and will sort out any queries etc we have. We can pop in anytime and they are straight on the phone or will call us back as soon as possible. They were absolutely brilliant when Hurricane Irma took place and we had to rearrange our holiday at short notice and helped pay towards our nights stay at the Sofitel. We will be booking with them again next year for 2021.

I was also going to suggest My Magic Holiday. I havent used them myself but we were booked with TUI at AKL last year when the pool closure issue happened. If you read the threads on here about the issue you will see that time and time again My Magic Holiday were sorting out transfers for their customers and even offering help and advice to others who had not booked with them. Conversely, TUI were absolutely hopeless and offered no help whatsoever. No only that they didnt even notify their customers that there was an issue for days after it had become fairly common knowledge via social media. I called Disney direct several times myself to sort out a move (we were given the Yacht Club) whilst TUI were still dithering about what information to give to their customers.
