I believe they hold the rights to all things Springfield until 2028, will be interesting to see what they do with it after that, I think a Pokemon themed area is the popular rumour.

Back to USGB I'm hoping for something James Bond themed, oh and Lord of the Rings as well *Crosses fingers*

Does Universal hold the James Bond theme park rights?

I would've thought they would've used James Bond rather than Jason Bourne as their stunt show theme in USF if they did.

I am a huge huge huge LOTR fan and it would make my life to have this. But I don't believe Universal own any of the rights?

I would imagine Harry Potter to feature hugely but not sure how as they've used most of the main settings. Maybe Fantastic Beasts based?

I'm sure they could sub-let the rights as it were, like they do with Harry Potter and Warner Brothers, and they do have some LOTR plushies as prizes in one of the games at IOA.

A number of years back Universal included a Lord of The Rings attraction in guest questionnaires being done in Orlando, and there’s also LOTR artwork done by Universal Creative. At some point Universal were clearly thinking about whether LOTR would be a suitable addition to their theme park portfolio, and rumours suggest that they had obtained theme park rights. Those rights were bought by Swedish game designers Embracer a couple of years ago, and I’m sure they’ll be looking to get a return on their investment so expanding Middle-earth to have a major presence in a theme park would give them a great return.

I’m not so sure we’ll see a Wizarding World land in the UK. Those rights are tightly control by Warner Brothers/JK Rowling, and the Potter Studio Tour just down the road will undoubtedly be a factor in whether Universal can get a new deal for their UK park. I’d love to see it, but at the moment I think a LOTR land is more likely (which I’d also be delighted with).

Oh I really hope you are right! Although we currently live 20 mins away from the site and are moving 3hrs up north so maybe I'd also be gutted that we couldn't go every weekend 😂
