Oh I 1000% know how hard it is lovely, please know you’re not alone.

I also need to take charge of my health and weight. Maybe we can help support each other on here? I know there is also a Dibb weight loss group too that may help.

Good luck with your injections, please stay safe.

Here if you need anything at all, but please always remember to be kind to yourself too

I’m currently on tier 4 for weight loss surgery, and will have either the gastric bypass or sleeve. It’s a massive life changing decision, and so very permanent. I worry about never being able to eat out with friends & family again - but, that’s what’s got me into this situation in the first place. I need control back, I need to be happy and me again, I hate going out, I haven’t been to a friends wedding with my husband in Years because I’m embarrassed. I can’t fit on some of the rides in the theme parks, which I love, I’m uncomfortable, my back hurts, my hip hurts, I’ve had to order new big uniforms at work as I’m so uncomfortable. Sick of being the fat one, the one who can’t keep up. Food is going to be the least of my concerns when this is done. I will be able to walk up Dartmoor with my teens and not feel like I’m going to throw up or pass out, I’ll be able to fit on the ET ride and laugh with my kids, I won’t need a seatbelt extender on a 9 hour flight, I can go out with my husband and feel proud of myself. I can sleep without waking up in pain thr next day. The list of positives are endless. I just want to be me again and if that means I can’t eat a 16oz rib eye steak for dinner then I’m willing to make that sacrifice ❤️ I have a heart problem and polycystic ovaries which make it so much harder.
I have a high BMI, combined with my conditions - & medication, and it’s so so hard. Going through the NHS is hard too. It’s definitely more of a mental issue than anything else. I’m so grateful for the psychology input!
I’m sure you’ll make the right decision! Good luck!

As it’s only piled on since the menopause perhaps it’s a thyroid issue? I would get your bloods checked just in case there’s an underlying issue here.

I wish it was a thyroid issue, last lot of bloods said not. But I’m having them done again next month.

Thanks, that’s a great idea. Support away from home and family life would be great.

Excellent! Let’s figure out how to help each other then. I promise you, you’re not alone. We can do this, we also need to be kinder to ourselves

Wow, I totally get it. You describe a lot of what I go through. I feel for you. Us women were not designed to have feelings and emotions as deeply as we do. I appreciate you writing your experience, it helps. Good luck to you too.

I felt and still do feel like I’m still alone. So I’ve joined the gym again, ordered Saxenda online and have to show what I’ve tried and if it has worked or not. Hubby now knows there’s something up but I just can’t tell him, he just wouldn’t understand. Such a stupid cow, I am!
All that you have decided to do is a great idea but seriously, join a local slimming world group, my BMI was over 40, you will get great support from everyone that attends slimming world, they teach you what food to eat to lose weight, I get free recipe books with food to cook for the whole family, I love going and talking to all the women and some men who attend my group it is something to look forward to. I think you would be surprised at how much support you can get.

Thanks, I did slimming world a few years ago. I was a very slow loser and that didn’t help with my disorders, which I hadn’t been diagnosed with then. They are good for support but not for people with disorders.
