Booking car hire on US website... ?

Hi

We are travelling in March for the first time. For many reasons (it will be dark (I think!) when we leave Orlando airport, we are staying onsite at Disney at first, no experience of US driving) we were planning to use the Disney Bus to resort and not pick up a car until we had been there for a few days...

Anyway, on many websites picking up a car at Disney on 30 March and returning it to airport on 7 April was double the price of collecting from the airport on the 25th! I cant fathom that out?

Anyway, finally managed to get a better price in US$ on the Alamo USA website. I ticked the box to say I am not a US resident and it was still happy to quote me.

Does anyone know of any reason I shouldn't book direct with the USA website? Or if not any other suggestions of places we could collect a car from instead of Disney car care on the 30th.

Thank you!

Most US Car Hire websites do not include CDW or taxes etc

Make sure you are comparing like for like.

As posted be careful with US websites as cater for US market as peoples own car insurance covers hire cars so no need to factor this in.
You can get own Insurance from here in UK to cover worldwide but think worst case do you want to deal with other party, your carhire company and another Insurance company if you have a prang.
Choice is as always yours but look at worst case V cash saved then make choice that suits you and your group.
I had a $100,000+ claim against me for damage was I happy with choice I made answer Yes.

Thanks for the tip I will double check before booking. Maybe we should just man up and drive from the airport! Has anyone done it later in the evening? Does it make any difference? We're due to land about 7.20 I think so don't see us on the road before 9.30... But that's gonna feel a lot later to us...

1. No reason not to collect next day at Disney a few choices of where to collect.
Your only issues is to make sure correctly insured or be happy with any liability you take on with Insurance level you choose to book.
My advice to all is book Gold level or what ever it is called at car hire company of choice.
In that way you are totally covered and the car hire company deals with all, Yes this is a slight premium on cheapest possible but IMHO the best possible way.
For a few pounds PP in grand scheme of things it is best.
As always choice is yours.
