Car Hire Mileage

We have pre booked car hire with Alamo and its with unlimited mileage however does anyone know if this will be totally unlimited as we are planning on doing around 2500 miles?
Does Alamo have places all over usa? just in case we break down or something!

We can do that mileage easily when we are there. If you plan on going out of state best check that it is OK on your rental plan. Alamo are all over the USA you can take out extra cover with them or a seperate stand alone breakdown policy.

I think you will be fine. We have done three week roar trips in the states covering between 4 and 5000 miles and there has never been a problem.

Normal breakdowns will be covered in the car hire normally. There are a few exclusions such as loss of keys, tyres and windscreen damage. The rental companies will charge around $5 per dat for this cover. There are third party companies that cover this for a fraction of that cost. e.g. enhancedroadsideassistance.

Some think this is unnecessary.

For us, we use RoadSideAssistance in Florida and take the car hire company's insurance for long road trips. It isn't a big amount in the price of a holiday so we like the peace of mind.
