Got to share this with you!

So... just booked a DIY (we always do DIY) trip over Christmas - 12 days leaving on 22/12. Flights booked ok, then went to book car. Usually book Avis, there's usually minimal price difference between them and the others, and I find their Preferred service stress free. This time - to book a large SUV (Chevy Tahoe size), Avis wanted £1800! What?!? Alamo were about £850. Hertz were £600. Guess who got my business?!? I know Christmas is expensive, but really - 3 times the price of Hertz? Avis, shame on you

Oh my goodness, that is a massive price difference. Just goes to show what a minefield car hire is!

Do you get to keep the car! That's just mad. Reality check required by these companies.

It's Christmas, popular cars actually sell out. Just choosing a different class of car can make hundreds of dollars difference.
