Our tile copy was made from a photograph to the actual dimensions of the tile. It was then printed onto thick card:

We did the Legacy in 1999. When we returned with kids in 2013 it was nice to look at it and see our younger pre-parent selves.

We had two done with our little kids. They are young men now. We always go past to say hi and see us captured in that moment, always there.

I always thought the bricks were just bricks, you could make one at home with a hammer and chisel but the laser etching of the family was something special.

If they move them, I hope they either give you the option to pay for yours to be cut out and sent to you or they are moved to another area in the park and consolidated.

Had ours done in 1999, I would be so sad to see it go. One is of me and hubby, the other my Mum (no longer with us) and my son who is now a grown man. Even if they had our details we have moved house twice since then. I still have the details so if I hear they are going will maybe email Disney to see if we can have them.

Thankfully we have a copy of ours that somebody made for us. The maintenance at WDW was fantastic. One of the custodial people did it as a hobby. You contacted him, he would remove the tile replacing it with a blank, refurb it and then put it back. And there was no cost.

And just to say - the ones at DLP were very badly maintained, in fact a disgrace. Glad we never bought one there.
That's brilliant! I always imagined guests taking a little cleaning kit and sitting on the floor giving their tile a scrub

When we returned we didnt have location with us. We spoke to someone in the office who found us. I think it was by date and name. It brought up the picture on screen and gave us the location so we could visit it.

I have one in Disneyland with a friend I'm no longer friends with... I usually position a teddy over her name when I take the pic

I went with a first timer last year. When she saw them she was confused and thought it was a memorial, she asked it there had been a disaster!
