Beaches at resorts and sand at waterparks?

Hi, is the sand- mainly that at waterparks but also resorts with beaches, ok for kids to play on and do they do so?
I don't want my ds seeing a 'beach' that he thinks he can play on/with and then not being able to without me being able to give him prior warning.

Cant comment regarding the resorts as Port Orleans does not have a beach, but there was no problem with the sand at the water parks. I hate sand personally so tried to find areas with non, nothing worse then the feeling of sand on you feet!

Caribbean Beach has a beach and we sat on it a few times and the kids loved the hammocks, you can sit and play and there are fences at the waters edge. We saw lots of kids playing in the sand at Typhoon Lagoon and Aquatica last summer.

Yes you can play in them, some of the kids meals come in a bucket with a spade at the waterparks.

Depending on what time of year you are going its worth considering that the sand can be scorching hot - and not something you would want to sit on and play in - but then i am a bit of a wuss
