We've used this method for the last few years. Always works very well for us. In some restaurants they do eat from the adult menu which they love but they eat a lot of kids meals too so it allows us to eat in a lot more signature meals and more frequently. Best £40 we spend each holiday!

DS had 2 huge chicken breast on a big big plate of pasta. He couldn't finish it .. well dad could anyway
That answers my question a bit 😀

Thanks, yes my dd was a 10 year old adult. She still wanted kids meals/portions so we paid for a kids meal for her at signatures and saved her 2 adult credits. Didn't have any issues.

Great report, my 2 boys were both on child plan last time we went, next year one of them will be on the adult plan - will definitely use towards some signature, Jiko looked amazing.

My daughters will be 15 and 12 and can be quite fussy too! Will it be possible to do this for them on occasion or are they too old to get away with that now?!

At Disney TS restaurants other than buffets/dining packages you can always pay out of pocket and save credits to use elsewhere. They can order an appetiser, or share a main meal (remember you can always substitute things or ask for things to be served separately "on the side" or to be split between two plates) or they can order a kids meal each...it's up to you

That's really good to know, thank you for that!

That's a real bonus, so they are not funny about the children's ages ? As a Disney child is a lot younger to a child anywhere else, my 12 year old will definitely just want plain food, but we would love to go to as many signatures as possible. 😁

You're welcome Kelly.

Jaspercat, at a normal Disney TS an 80 year old could order off the kids menu if they wanted to, noone would bat an eye, there really isn't an issue.

We tend to tip on the higher side when we don't order a "full" meal for everyone, but again there's no compulsion to do this either.

Which restaurants are regarded as 'buffet' style so 11 year old child would have to use an adult credit? I can think of Ohana, Tusker, Chef Mickeys.. Where else? Is Teppan Edo one of these classed as buffet/family style and mama melrose fantasmic package? Liberty Tree?
