As far as I can see... Children under 3 are free.. Unsure for children aged 4-11. 12 plus are adults (apparently :s).

For a family of 4 it will likely be similar in price to a taxi, with the taxi being a bit quicker I am sure!

try Uber! it was a LIFE SAVER! for us last year.
We where in the exact same position as you last year! We where staying in Port Orleans FQ without a car which was fine as the Disney Buses where perfect!
However a few days we did want to visit Universal, i had a tickets where we could go as many times as we wanted so i really wanted to get my moneys worth plus we wanted to do Halloween Horror Night.
We accepted the fact we would have to pay alot for taxis so alocated some money aside.

Then i remembered about Uber and quickly downloaded the app that morning. I was excited to find out its really getting popular in Orlando in the last 6 months.
As a new user i got a free $30 so that paid for one trip for free!
On the way back i made my partner an account on his phone and got another $30 free.
(Im not sure if there still doing this welcome promotion)

Even if there not, it was soooo much cheaper than a regular taxi. like $15 dollers to Universal i paid once. The drivers we had where lovely and even gave us space to charge our phones in the car and gave us free water bottles.
Plus you pay on the app. no money passes hands so you feel a lot safer! (which was great for us as this was our first visit to the states)

here is a thread i started on uber

You can either book a return time there and then, or call 2 hours ahead of when you want to be picked up.

With 2 people only it works out cheaper than getting a taxi.

Then in 2010 we (just the 2 of us) booked one night in HRH. Early entry, 2 days of FOLP and saving of one return trip on Mears shuttle. It was well worth it, and we only did the 2 days in Universal then back to the Disney bubble!
Great, thanks so much! I'm so glad to know that there's a cheaper option! I might look at the HRH and see what the prices are like!
