I think it is not just about the tags - although they really help Disney id your cases. They will still only pick them up from the second luggage drop, I believe you would still have to take your own cases through customs.

They can't go into customs, it's a secure area. The only area they can reach is second bag drop.

How could they possibly declare what you're carrying through customs for you?

I'm not too sure anyone was suggesting that Disney CM's collected them before customs.

Thank you very much for all the replies,they have been very helpful and gives me a few options. We did think about packing light but I'm not sure that would work!
