Keeping money and passports safe in hotel rooms

Hi were staying at all star movie resort for 2 nights and was wondering what you do about your money and passports?
We've only stayed in a villa before.
Would keeping them in a locked suitcase be ok as I assume there's no safes in rooms
Thanks

Disney have safes in their rooms, not a very big safe mind, about the size of a "wafer thin mint", unless they have upgraded- it's a key with a huge hard plastic tag!

How does this work? could they not just take the safe if they wanted it?

That’s what I thought. Like putting a big sign saying “our valuables are in here”.

Idea is that the wire loop is supposed to be put around something unmovable I guess. Agree that it is a bit of an advertisement but then again so is a hotel safe.

Disney rooms have a safe but as said they aren’t very deep. You’d get an iPad in, purse, passport. You can get a small camera.

Thanks

I wasn’t sure what the loop was for. Does seem like a good idea if you can definitely get something sturdy enough. My worry would be that someone would just cut the wire.

We’ve always used the safes in Disney and universal. We’ve never had a problem. But all hotel safes are the same, there is a potential.
The Disney safes are tiny, but they fit in our passports, money, documents and iPhones/fitbits. I lock my straighteners in a suitcase.

This is one of the reasons we actually use travellers cheques. I prefer cash to card as I can see exactly what we have (we don’t take our phones to the park with us so we can’t just keep checking the app) and then we never have a large amount changed up, and we have the serial numbers of the cheques if somewhere we’re to happen to them.

We do use a card as well though, always been the post office one so far. That’s just so we can top it up - we don’t get cash out on this.

Am i being thick, cant see the point of the little movable safe. Even with the little loop, someone would just cut that. If you put it in your suitcase, wouldn't they just walk out with the case?
