London restaurant recommendation

Hi all, we are due to go to London in a couple of weeks, we already have the Dorchester roof top bar booked for drinks but don’t really fancy the menu for food so looking for somewhere with really good food in London? Hit me! We’ve already been to the shard and the savoy and have afternoon tea at the ritz booked for October

Our favourite is Clos Maggiore, in Covent Garden, they have the most wonderful decor and food, and set menus that make it reasonable for fine dining.

I highly recommend the truffle mash, or triple cooked chips.

If you like tapas, I'd recommend the Opera Tavern in Covent Garden. It's pricey but you won't get usual tapas, very high quality and amazing flavours - I recommend the iberico pork and foie gras sliders, they're out of this world.

No opera music, however it's close to the Opera House, hence the name:
saltyardgroup/salt...s/opera-tavern

If you are a steak lover then I’d book Goucho’s. The food and service is fantastic.

But then stay clear of the O2 Greenwich branch - consistently terrible service!
