How about Ropedrop?
I was wondering...
Now that Disney hotel guests are allowed in the parks 30 minutes before park opening in any WDW park on every day if Ropedrop still is the key solution to ride the big fancy rides with a minimal waiting time? Won’t there allready be a 30 minute cue before us day guests even are at the gates? |

Basically yes but still likely to be a smaller queue than later in the day- if you were being really cynicalalso a very good incentive to buy Genie + !

It used to be that the first hour or two (basically before 10am) were still quiet, so I imagine it's still worth it even though you won't be front of the rope.
Looking at wait times this past weekend specifically on the fancy rides, RotR is the only one that really has a big spike immediately on early entry. To give some examples, 7DMT had an jump in the first 15 minutes of early entry but then stayed the same for the next 90 minutes before rising to its average wait for the day. FOP wait grew more steadily over the morning but didn't reach it's average wait until 2 hours after park open. I'd say the park not worth rope dropping for fancy rides is Epcot, since it opens later now so the later start crowds are already there. But since Remy is VQ, it's harder to judge the fancy ride impact there. Frozen's wait time was all over the place on the days I checked. Edited at 08:59 PM. |

I’m over there right now and our first full day was today in Epcot. In the space of a very leisurely 5 hours between 13:00-18:00 we found via Genie that Test Track had dropped to 30 mins (around 2pm) and again later Soarin fell to 15mins (around 5pm). We also managed to get a Remy’s VQ spot which was BG 100 (I waited and joined the VQ around 7:02am as we were going later in the day) and we did that at 5:25pm.
