Children's 3-5 Day Covid Tests in the US

What are people doing regarding children's 3-5 day test once in the US? What type of tests are you using? Are you bringing from home, or buying out there? Do they need to be registered/submitted anywhere?

I don't have kids but have read through all of the guidance and CDC orders. There's no requirements on the post-arrival test, other than you need to do one. So no proof of booking or results required, unlike here. If it were me, I would be packing some NHS tests in my case and using those, with a photo of the results as evidence just in case.

Once we get some Dibber reports from those who landed today or in the next few days, we may get a clearer idea. But I suspect it won't even be questioned.

We're off to New York in March and I think our return day is day 3 so really unsure about what testing we'd need to do. Would hate to not do a test then get barred from entry in October!

Returning to the UK and you'll need a test before day 2 anyway so won't they be the same one?

Arriving in the UK requires a LFT before day 2. You can do this on arrival in the UK which should coincide with day 3 of your US trip.

Have I read your post wrong?

In Scotland it's only the adults in our party who need to test on return. And only the kids who need to do the 3-5 day test after arriving in the US so it seems to be a bit all over the place. Will wait to hear others' experiences

That makes more sense.

11 and over have to test for Scotland.

For those under 11 you can use the free NHS tests to cover off the US test. The US don't ask for evidence it's a promise you will do it on the attestation form.

As far as I’m aware no one has been questioned about these tests. I’m just taking my own in April.
Simon Calder recently wrote an article saying basically you can take them or buy them at Walgreens over counter as no where to register them and nothing to say tests need to be supervised. I know he isn’t the most reliable but obviously he can’t find anything either to say these tests need supervision and people that say they do are quoting the guidance for pre departure.
