I’ve just priced up our Disney tickets for next Oct for my family and they are £4500 plus the individual up charge lightening lane to get the two additional rides in each park if we want that option. Then if we did this party it’s another £1500 making a grand total of £6000 just for our Disney tickets plus the additional rides, and the party.
Add on to that our villa, hire cars x 2 as we will be coming and going at different times, flights x 7 and food and the holiday we last took in 2019 will probably now exceed £20,000! So I’d be overjoyed to go to GKTW as I’d much much rather support this wonderful place than £1500 for 4 hours at Disney. I honestly feel as if £20,000+ this year means enough is enough and I’ve reached my tipping point of value v cost. We live very close to DLP and have actually been just for the day before so I’d rather just pop down there to give the kiddies a bit of character time which is our primary reason for going and maybe stay two days and come home. It wouldn’t be the same but it would do!

I suppose it's all a matter of perspective and depends how much you can afford to spend whilst still having a good quality of life. I would say most households would struggle to justify 20k on a holiday, as I would look at that at a chunk of a deposit for a property etc.
Essentially if it won't put you in any financial trouble, go for it, if its something that needs a lot of thought, and life changing because of it, then take it as a sign perhaps. Apart from my mortgage I have never borrowed any money so my attitude is very much i'll spend what I can afford whilst everything else is covered, if you fall into that, then happy days |
