Your car is already allocated no choice or alternatives. I was given a Ford Ecosport, it’s an ok car but there’s no power in it and the breaks are pretty slow response but it does have satnav so atleast that’s a bonus.
We’re picking up from Royal Pacific in December so thanks for the heads up. I assumed we wouldn’t get a choice though so already prepared for that.

That’s shocking Chris. Who was that booked through?
Currently tentatively looking for the summer

I would take it to the airport and say you have concerns about the brakes. They may give you something better.

I had one that had an intermittent engine warning light - if you know what I mean!

Getting Excited

All these are worrying stories, I mean our booking (Hertz) is 9 months away, we're picking up in an offsite location in Tampa at 4pm, the office closes at 5pm (we're already there so will turn up early) and our hotels in Orlando

What happens if we can't get a car? (should I take a tent and camp in their office)

Paranoia much

Hopefully by the time you (and I) go things will be looking better, and you may also find a more reasonable price getting directly from the airport.
It seems people at least seem to get a car, but maybe not what they ordered. So if it does happen to you potentially drive from Tampa, stop off at MCO and try and get it changed.

A dibber picked up his car from Tampa airport last week and said there was no car shortage there. That was with Budget/Avis.

We have got the basic car booked for the 2 of us for may.
Hoping they don't downgrade us as we may get a bike.

If they don't have a car or the one you have ordered are you within your rights to cancel and walk away?

If they give you any serious grief I would imagine your credit card company would refund you under 'failure to supply goods or service' as a last resort.

Think this maybe the last straw for me getting a voucher and re-thinking the idea, we have only booked a week a a surprise but really starting to think it isn't worth it now.

struggling with parks for the days we'd like, restaurants etc . Think we have been spoilt previously or its all just worked out great, I don't want to be messing about on such a short break .

Gutted
