Virgin points question
My sister had an economy reward flight booked last week. You earn tier points but obviously don't earn new points for reward flights.
At check-in she was offered an upgrade to Economy Delight for $69. (She didn't take it as she knew the flight was half-empty and was guaranteed an extra seat next to her whereas delight was quite full). My question is - would she have earned miles for this flight as it would be in a new class? I expect she would have got the extra tier points but she's not bothered by those. |

I can’t be sure how it works but in August, my daughter upgraded an economy reward seat to UC by paying a supplement at the airport. She was surprised to see that she was credited with full miles for the whole flight, as if she’d paid money for it all in the first place.

I think you’ve got it the wrong way round. I think you do earn reward points but not tier points on a reward flight
