Mobile Cat or dog licking plates

When I finish a meal I put the plate on the floor for one of my cats to lick. It saves food waste and bunging up the sink with bits. OF COURSE I wash the plate afterwards ( even though it's clean enough to put back in the cupboard &#128521
But some people say to me this is 'a disgusting habit '
What do you think? And if you think it's wrong to let a dog or cat lick plates, why do you think that? ( I don't do it when I have guests just in case they are of the ' disgusting habit ' state of mind)

I don’t like it. I feel it is disgusting even if everything is washed properly. My cats will lick plates If I leave them out, but I don’t. I even have a separate brush for washing the cats bowls with. Also the food the cat is getting even in small amounts will end up damaging their teeth even more.

Our dog was allowed to do this with his previous owner. A very hard habit to break, the reason we don’t like it is because he scrounges when we’re eating! He’s watching us like a hawk for us to finish so he can finish off 😂 he gets no such luck 😃

But you don't say why you think it's disgusting

🤮😱ooh no just the thought of it. I realise the plate will get washed but I just think cats or dogs shouldn't use the same plates/dishes. It just doesn't seem hygienic.

I'd love to see a video of your cat using a knife and fork 😁
