I have to agree about the onsite Starbucks!
 But I wouldnt make the points about the club room comparisons without good reason. 5 visits to RPR Club and nothing short of excellent "concierge" service. PBR (while only the 1 stay) was anything but...    It was simply a canteen with poor service, lack of food and nowhere to sit due to them overselling. We complained and the response from the hotel was beyond anything we could have expected but the point still stands.

The last couple of years we have been to PB, we have had bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. Also a cooked potatoes like tata tots.
Our last breakfast was in September 2018. I’m sure if anyone goes on YouTube someone will have put a video on of the breakfast! |

There is a separate connecting room with additional seating at PBR if the main room is full
We stayed Club for a week in August last year, never had any problems getting food or a table no matter how busy it was. It was replenished regularly and the service was great They had scrambled eggs every day with potatoes -the bacon and sausage option alternated on different days. The breakfast was excellent - loads of different choices. |

May I jump in here with a few queries-
Distance from resort to us/ioa? With a one night stay-can we use club lounge all day on both days? Is the resort confusing for those with no sense of direction? |

The hotel is the other side of Hard Rock from the parks - an extra 5-10 mins walking or a slightly longer boat ride. Still not that far and we walked it a few times if we missed the boat.
Club lounge it depends - you are only supposed to have access until you check out (you can use it first thing on check in day) but some posters on here have suggested it is flexible. The resort is big. It is a bit confusing at first but when you work out the little short cuts it isn't a problem - plus it looks great whilst you are walking around. The 2 main pools are close together and the boat dock isn't far from the lobby or main pool once you get your head around the steps and paths. Took me a day or two but even taking the long way round it isn't that bad. If you are staying Club, ask for a room near the club room and on the same floor. It is near the lobby and the main pool (with a cut through) and the quieter main pool. Amazing hotel |

It’s a little further out but takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Parks or on the boat. We only stayed 1 night this visit and had breakfast both days and dinner plenty of choice with free flowing beer and wine (didn’t bother with the snacks ) but after check out time you can’t get access to the lounge. It’s easy to get around the resort,it has 3 pools we made time to get back for an hour around the pool before dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

We are looking to book 5 nights at universal have come really close to booking hard rock hotel club level looking at prices it seems Portofino Bay Hotel is the same.
We have stayed at Royal Pacific Resort 5 years ago standard room no club but fancy a upgrade this time around. So is it regarded that Portofino Bay Hotel has better breakfast ( hot breakfast) and drinks and snacks then hard rock ? Not sure what to go for now after reading this Thanks Scott. |
