Florida in Europe? Disney (Cruise) and Theme Parks - Day 7 at sea
Sunday 23 August – At Sea, meeting the Frozen characters
On our first day on board and at sea, we have tickets to see the Frozen Princesses and Olaf at 9am in the Animators Palate restaurant and then tickets at 9.30 to see the Princesses in the Atrium. I set the alarm for 8.10am and good that I did as it woke me up, one advantage of an inside cabin the darkness is it good for sleep. We enjoyed the character meet and greets and there was plenty of opportunities for photos and to chat to the characters. After the characters we went for breakfast as Harriet was hungry, she had corn beef hash her new favourite. During breakfast Harriet was monitoring her phone for messages from ‘The Squad’ (her newly made friends from the Edge kids club), via the Disney message app she agreed to meet them after breakfast in the clubroom. I took the opportunity to explore the ship some more and went for a walk looking for clues in the Elsa treasure hunt as I went, I visited Mickey’s mainsail shop and bought a postcard and magnet ($13) and then found a sunbed on the deck to write my travel notes and to read. It was a bit windy but very enjoyable sat on deck watching families on the Aquaduck water slide. Later that morning I moved sunbeds to the more sheltered adult only Cove Pool which was very peaceful, I got some pizza from the Pinocchio’s Pizzeria which is on the side of the pool for lunch. Harriet spent the day with her friends by the pool and on the waterslides. At about 4.30pm I went inside and had a shower as had a bit too much sun! Then went back on deck, got a Panini and read my book whilst eating it. Harriet returned and we went for a walk until 7.45pm when we went to find Donald Duck as Harriet wanted to meet him and get some photos. We also watched some of Frozen in 3D in the theatre, looked at the photos taken by the on board photographers and also looked in the shops, Harriet bought a pack of Frozen themed pens ($14). Dinner this evening was in the Animators Palace and was a Frozen themed menu. As part of the attraction of this restaurant we drew a picture of a person on a piece of paper on the table and then it gets animated on the walls in a show later in the evening. Gorgeous décor in this restaurant with drawings and Disney movie clips on the walls. I had wild boar to eat as part of the Scandinavian / Frozen themed menu. I haven't posted any photos of the cartoon and drawings as not to spoil the experience for others! After dinner it was the ‘Freezing the Night Away’ deck party, Harriet met up with the Edge club and I went to the pool deck with my light up snowflake that had been left in the cabin earlier in the day! As the deck party ended I went to watch ‘Antman’ in the Beuna Vista theatre and we were both back in cabin for bed at about 1am.

Wow, great day! Interesting that the show at Animator's Palate was so early in the cruise. Other reports I have read said it was the second time they ate there during the week. Maybe they vary it.

The characters are so great, aren’t they?
I loved Animator’s Palate. We didn’t get the Frozen sow on our Med cruise, just pirate night.
