If I book WDW hotel and tix separately?

If I book my tickets through Disney (they are currently cheapest for us), but I also separately book a few nights in a disney hotel; will my tickets be tied to my stay (i.e only start when we check in)? Or can I start my tickets, and then check in at some later point in the holiday?

Also, if I want 60 days FP+ booking-will that only kick in from check in at the Disney hotel then? thanks

You’ll only get 60 days for the days you are on site

Yes you add your tickets to MDE. This has your hotel, tickets etc and then will notify you when your fast passes will be ready to book, but this will only be at 60 days from the point of your hotel stay. You will have to wait for 30 days to book the other days when your offsite before and after your Disney hotel stay

Your tickets will not be tied to your hotel stay. We always do this and we could use the tickets tomorrow if we wanted too.
