Quebec 2016 - On y va LIVE - Day 3 Where Are The Sharks?

Another early wake up - even O was awake by 7am!

Breakfast was cinnamon bagels - a treat for us as we can't get these at home and the ones I make are never quite right - and coffee (well for the grown ups)

We went down to the lake as F wanted to go fishing! Unfortunately picking were slim!

We decided to do a hike to the Rapides de Neige. Unfortunately we ended up turning back quite quickly as the area was infested by mozzies and horseflies. DH reacts badly to the latter and even being smothered on anti insect lotion, we were getting bitten.

What we did see was lovely

As breakfast was a few hours earlier, we stopped off for a second round. I had a cinnamon and honey swirl which was delicious. The croissant was DH's - he said it reminded him of stollen.

Before lunch in the cabin (an early fridge clearout), F and I went down to the lake to try fishing again!

Still no luck.

But I enjoyed reading my kindle!

After lunch, guess where we went

The title of today came from a comment by my big strapping almost 15 year old who jumped in and as he swam back to the dock said "I'm scared there may be sharks! "

I had tears of laughter - you probably had to be there but it was funny. I don't think he will live it down.

If you squint there is a fish in the bottom of the bucket. F ended up catching two little fish - she was so happy with herself.

The fish have been released back into their natural habitat.

O asked if we could go for an ice cream - so we did!

I had a St Donat special - basically a strawberry tart McFlurry. It was very nice (and totally calorie free )

Dinner was a BBQ - something we never do at home.

I made garlic potatoes and we roasted corn.

Then we added salmon and the jacket potatoes.

Delicious.

F made cookie dough smores for dessert.

Another trip to the lake where we were lucky enough to see a beaver close up. Of course, this was the first time I went without my camera.

Another lovely day. Tomorrow we plan to go out for the day - either to the National Park or Mont Tremblant - see how the weather is!

The mozzies we could live with but poor DH really doesn't get along with horseflies - he was bitten on his leg and it is all hot!

Another nice day, shame about the mozzies. The barbecue looks tasty, makes a change from burgers and sausages.

That has been the worst day by far for mozzies! We don't eat meat so bbqs are generally salmon or some other fish
