Made these ghost lollies today. We are leaving them on our doorstep with a bottle of sanitizer. Any families who want have as bit of normality this year by trick or treating can sanitize and take one. Kids have had so much taken from them this year. They deserve Halloween if at all possible, even though it might be slightly different to usual.

That's what I'm doing this year! I always decorate every year and love seeing all the kids dressed up! I won't decorate outside this year like normal, but will do a carved pumpkin and another with lollys stuck in it, so if anyone comes around they can take one if they want!

I’m still expecting some guisers and have my individual bags made up and ready. A lot of people around where we are have their decorations up and still expecting local children.

We are in tier 1 (Dorset) and have bought paper bags which we have filled with fun size treats.
We have a litter picker (new) to maintain distance and will hand them out if kids come to the door on sat. If no one comes we will pass them on to friends with kids 😀

A clear gloves filled with sweets to look like a hand and then hung up outside. I’m afraid I’m in the minority but I don’t get why we can’t do trick or treat in your low tier areas. I am against putting your hand in a bucket of sweets clearly but opening the door and having a little parcel ready which someone can pick up in my view is no different to the post arriving or an amazon delivery 🤷

We're doing lollies in a pumpkin too. Have drilled some holes so can stick them in easily, hopefully the few kids we do get will be sensible.

Because it’s still encouraging lots of foot traffic into these areas and children all mixing with others from different schools etc..
Will definitely make the pavements busier and less social distancing will be possible because of traffic . Our area is one of the lowest in England and my neighbourhood usually goes all out for Halloween but even we can see that encouraging lots of kids/families out in the middle of a pandemic is not a good idea . You get 1 Amazon delivery a day at most probably, it’s not really comparable to 8 or so different families turning up at your door on one night . |
