Mr Morrow, are you secretly my parents in disguise?!
We got home from Florida on the weekend and I went straight to bed at my mums as I hadn’t slept on the plane. Woke up 3 hours later to all the laundry washed and drying on the line, with my kids laundry being ironed by my mum!

We are probably far too close and are in and out of each other’s houses all the time helping with things, bit like being an extended family spread across two houses.

I think it’s a welsh thing, we are just naturally very family orientated

Spot on. All about mucking in together. Being retired we get bored!

Nice to have some jobs to do. Plus it's the way it should be. Those that have time on their hands help those who haven't.

Shelves and grill tray perfect though.

Never seen an oven where the sides need cleaning. Ours self clean.

It's his recycling day tomorrow, mine is today. As it's really windy I didn't want his bags to blow away so slung them in my car. Got home and for the first time ever they collected in our road early.

So now I have his recycling for a week
Take it back 😁

Wouldn't think twice. We do things for the kids and they don't hesitate in helping us out. This weekend for example we spent three days at the son's flat in Colchester helping him decorate. sure, he could afford to pay decorators to do it, but we want to help, plus we do it better...

Hi Mr Morrow. if you are up in Scotland anytime soon my oven also needs cleaning and my rotary dryer has just fallen over due to the high winds! LOL.
In days gone by my parents would always have done a few DIY jobs while we were away whether we wanted them done or not! LOL!

Our children live too far away now for us to return the favour but DH did cut a shelf to fit an awkward cupboard and take it in his suitcase to fit while we were in Berlin!

If my dd asked me to clean her oven whilst she was away on a nice holiday I would laugh and say no chance!

I suppose if you have the kind of relationship where they do lots for you in return it’s different

Why not! If your physically able and have the time.
I would help DD anyway I could as my parents did for me.
Dear mother helped me decorate our new home a couple of years ago. She was 91 at the time.

We're going to visit DS and family next week, and taking my dad for his yearly trip up there (Arran); he's 85 and while there will be making bird boxes and a new squirrel feeder for them - he loves feeling as if he's still useful.

We have the keys to our kids’ houses and they have keys to ours. Seems perfectly normal to me.
