Mobile Bristol to Gatwick, best way to travel?

Flight is at 11.15 midweek. Am weighing up the options based on cost and convenience of

Staying in a hotel the night before,
Booking car park space- either at hotel or elsewhere (is this a thing?)

Or

My parents want to travel the night before also but get a taxi minibus for us all, Bristol to Gatwick
Is this also a thing? From initial research it looks very expensive but I dont know if it would be cheaper than the cost of the parking!

Btw, I am sorry if this is in the wrong board- I could not find an alternative :-)

There's the train too. From Bristol you can change at Reading for Gatwick and don't need to go through central London.

But, yes, parking at the airport either at a hotel or in one of the many independent car parks is very much a thing, and taxi companies will also run you to airports - they'll all do it regularly.

We've travelled on the train to Reading, changing there for Gatwick. Fairly easy, we had a Flyaway ticket I think, special fare but tricky to find on the websites!

We are travelling Bath to Gatwick by train, look at the railcard options as it can reduce the price dramatically!

I used to live in Bristol and the North Somerset area. It can be a very long drive back down the M4 from Gatwick when you get home, and you'll likely have been awake for close to 24 hours.

It's a drive I'd try to avoid making immediately after getting off the plane if possible.

We come up from Cornwall and for LGW , now prefer the train on the night before with its change at Reading.

It is a matter of a few minutes to get from the Railway San to the N Terminal by Monorail and the Premier Inn is dead opposite the Monorail disembarkation... whether travelling from N or S terminal next day.

Hi,
We always travel up the day before by car, and last October we booked the Premier Inn at Goffs Park which is about 10 minutes from the airport, room only £29.50 had a lovely meal in the Brewers Fayre next door, free wifi and free parking, doing the same next October!

I live in Devon, We have drove a couple of times and it is a horrible journey home, So we decided to start getting the train, It is a change a Reading then straight through to Gatwick.
The Premier North is a fab hotel and right opposite the north terminal, So very easy.

I have just come back from Cuba with friends, My hubby had said about getting the train but they really wanted to drive, We landed Monday morning and we spent nearly Two hours on a gridlocked M25. It took forever to get home, We had to keep stopping as my friend was so tired.Never again.

I would do the train the night before every time.
