Zip Lining in Canada - travel insurance
We've got an annual policy that when I took it out, I made sure we were covered for low level water rafting (as we want to do this when we go to Canada in July / August). I completely forgot to check to see if it covered us for ziplining! And it doesn't
I've asked for a quote for increasing our annual policy to cover this and I've been quoted an additional £120 This is for a family of 4. Has anyone bought travel insurance recently that covers zip lining? I thought I might get quotes for just the duration of our holiday (rather than an annual policy) to see if it works out cheaper. But I'm not sure whether there's an issue if we have 2 policies?

Might work out much the same, annual policies tend to be not much more than a 2 week one.

It may be worth contacting the company offering the zip lining. They can sometimes offer insurance for the activities that they organise.

When DD went to NZ she had normal travel insurance and then a separate policy that covered only the activities she intended doing.
She did a whole series of extreme sports, including bungee jumping, tube caving parachute jump. We got specialist extreme activity insurance, can’t remember the exact company we used but I know we looked at Big Cat. You only paid for the activities you wanted to do and I know for the parachute jump we had to say exactly when and where she was doing it with 2r hours grace for weather. |

We have a family annual policy, DD is in Thailand for a month volunteering and she's been white water rafting, we phoned them to check it's ok and it was included which surprised us. What wasn't interestingly is a visit to an elephant sanctuary, something I'd expect to have been covered, so we're pleased we checked. It was an extra £20 to add that.
Definitely worth shopping around.

I didn't even think about insurance for things like this.
We've got a couple of excursions booked through Disney cruise Line, do the activities include necessary insurances or is that for us to arrange? I know some activities are covered on our annual policy but haven't checked specifically. |

Our insurance did not cover us to go on Segways or use skateboards - luckily my cousin's covered her for her Segway experience - she broke her wrist - at what would have been great cost...

When we went to the Smoky Mountains a few years ago we did mountain biking, zip lining and white water rafting, from memory we got a very good deal with LVE for the 3 of us as a one off policy.
