The V Room - Manchester Airport
The V Room - Manchester Airport
ok here we go! The first food of the holiday... They had a nice selection. A main breakfast plate, beans on toast, a muffin type option and the staple sausage/bacon barm/bap (whatever else you care to call it). We both went with the "jet set" which was the standard breakfast plate. I made the mistake of not asking for beans and toast with it while Adam did. It looked like this A small portion but as you can go up for more if you wanted that's not really an issue. Taste and quality wise it was on par with what we would have eaten at frankie and benny's. Some of the other offering were: Pastries and smoothies. The smoothies were the innocent smoothies you get from the supermarket rather than made inhouse, very yummy though. I went which a croissant but they also had danishes and turnovers if you wanted. They had a big fruit selection, granola and yoghurt if you fancied making up a parfait. I just sampled the fruit but what I did have was very fresh and flavourful They also like to have monthly treats made up by the chef. The treats this month were rice crispie treats and popcorn. I passed on the popcorn but the crispie treats were lovely and gooey and really got me in the mood for mickeys version. Despite it only being 9am we reasoned that it was at least 5pm somewhere in the world and so we grabbed two cocktails. Mine was a sparkling wine with orange liquor. Adam's was a 'sunset' style cocktail of vodka, cranberry and orange. I was pleasantly surprised by the price of these. They worked out at £3.50ish each, which I would struggle to get at my local bar let alone at an airport. They weren't small measures either! SCORING Atmosphere - 10/10 - Very relaxing and well worth the extra pennies we paid Quality - 9/10 - Only the coffee did I consider poor quality, everything else was lovely Presentation - 10/10 - not much you can get wrong with a breakfast but the presentation of the food buffet and the cocktails was great Service - 8/10 - the hot plate service was a little sullen but everyone else couldn't do enough for us during our stay Overall Experience 8/10 - I would prefer a plate of everything as standard and a better quality coffee (it was standard machine rubbish) BEST DISH Definitely the cocktails

Wolfgang Puck Express
Wolfgang Puck Express
We visited the marketplace location on our first night believing this to have the best selection available. We were on the dining plan and so we chose a main, dessert and a drink from the options available. We had a pepperoni pizza with no mushrooms This was a decent sized pizza, nothing to huge and had a nice crispy base throughout. Even without the mushrooms there was plenty of topping We also had the bacon wrapped Meatloaf This is a firm favourite here on the dibb and other disney food forums and we were eager to try it. I have to say I was a little disappointed. The bacon was fatty rather than crispy as I had hoped and the sauce and meatloaf were very rich and overpowering. The onions were nice but they went soggy very quickly. The highlight for me was the mash potato, that probably says more about the rest of the dish rather than the outstanding quality of the potatoes For dessert we shared a cheesecake and a creme brulee Both were nice and very similar but I favoured the brulee. The consistancy was buttery and the ratio of crispy top to creamy inside was perfect. I cleared the bowl SCORING Atmosphere - 8/10 - Very noisy in the main dining room but quieter and more relaxed in the conservatory section Quality - 7/10 - A little hit and miss, maybe I was expecting to much Presentation - 10/10 - For a quick service location the presentation was impressive Service - 10/10 - Our server was very attentive and kept our drinks refilled for the entire visit Overall Experience 9/10 - I will definitely keep this on the must do list. I might just try something a little less rich next time. BEST DISH The brulee. COST The bill came to $46.55 including tax, not including tip.

The breakfast looks really yummy actually (despite the fact your sauce is touching your eggs, that is wrong! ) especially the bacon, it looks much nicer than any of the bacon you'll get once you arrive at Disney.
I agree that beans are a must with all cooked breakfasts. Disney need to come over to the dark side and start offering beans for breakfast. Very impressed with the V Room. |

Yay a food report too
Breakfast looks very yummy, and it's always 5 o'clock somewhere as far as i'm concerned lol. Shame about the meatloaf as it looks yummy, but I agree bacon just has to be crispy
