Great to see that they've reviewed this issue and now classify them as "oversized liquids". Hopefully whoever runs their AskTSA twitter feed will no longer state that they are not allowed.

I find it oddly amusing that they say "...as these items could reasonably be seen by some as replica hand grenades". The only people who implied that they could be seen by some as replica hand grenades were whoever runs AskTSA and TSA spokesperson Jim Gregory. No one else thought they were replica hand grenades, including (I assume) the majority of TSA officers who had already allowed several of these onboard flights.

If only the TSA spokesperson had said all this in the first place!

Just bumping this before the question comes up again, as it inevitably will.

Funnily enough, I don't think the question ever came up here on the DIBB in the first place. Someone just posted a response from TSA's twitter feed that was doing the rounds and that prompted a discussion.

Replica thermal detonators, yes. Replica hand grenades, no

It's a bit like saying the lightsabers are "replica swords" and not allowing them on flights. I guess if you squint...
