People in the UK can't buy them from Disney. But they can buy them from places like Amazon and eBay. The usual caveats apply when buying from eBay and third-party sellers on Amazon - make sure the seller is legit and has a good rating and make sure you read the item description carefully to ensure you buy a new, unlinked MagicBand still in it's packaging.

The prices on eBay and Amazon will always be more than the prices in the parks. You will have to pay for the band, for postage from the USA, and for any profit the seller makes.

The reason Disney don't send Magic Bands outside America is because it's illegal to actually send the technology through the post outside America. I read this on the official WDW FB page when a UK visitor asked why we have to pick them up at the hotel. So all those people doing so are breaking the law.

That sounds like complete and utter bunkum. There's nothing in a magic band that would make it illegal to post outside of the USA. Sounds like a line WDW say because they don't want to shipping costs.

I must admit, I always thought it was due to the batteries that are within the MagicBands. I thought there were certain restrictions when shipping items containing batteries, especially when you consider that the MagicBand is always "on".

There must be a reason why shopDisney is happy to post a cuddly Mickey Mouse (and lots of other things) from the USA to international destinations but not MagicBands and other items containing batteries?
