You are allowed 2 pieces of hand luggage. I recently flew back with rucksack and the largest dimension bag you can have on Virgin.

They added the approved carry on tags at check in and didn't bat an eyelid.

There were quite a few lightsabers in their carry packs going through security X-rays

Arrived back this morning having flown with VA. No issue at all with my sons lightsaber that he built at Savis Workshop.

I suspect my case will be slightly too small for the lightsaber too.

We're planning on using the Disney Springs bag drop on the morning of our departure (we fly at 17:45) and then having a few hours in MK (I have a couple of early afternoon FPs booked!). Are the lockers on the rides big enough to store the lightsaber, or are there general usage lockers by the entry/exit that would be large enough?

Did you bring it back in the cabin with you?

Just to finally add to this, I took the on virgin Atlantic this morning and there was no problems at Alex they happily put it in a cupboard to one side of the cabin until we landed and it went through security at MCO without any trouble.
