Wow! Really dx4100?! What makes you such an authority that you don’t believe me?! My daughter aged 10 was placed near the front, I was placed just over half way down the plane, my husband was around 6 rows further back on the other side of the plane and my son (aged 14) was about three further back on the same side as me. Is that enough of the facts for you?! How does that match the guidelines?!
Also how dare you suggest I chose to seat my daughter on her own to claim compensation or get my name in the Daily Mail! I know you tried to backtrack on that accusation in a later post but it’s there plain to see! You don’t know me! You certainly have nothing to base your accusations on!
Thanks Lell for backing me!
I came on here purely to share my experience, not argue and not to be accused of changing the truth (or whatever other fancy terms you want to use for lying!)
Fact is airlines do split kids from their parents!

How did that flight work out for you in the end, with you all split up?

Bozza, as I said when I first commented that my daughter had been split from us, the crew on board were wonderful! There were other families in the same situation and they spent ages repatriating children! The flight was actually delayed whilst they sorted it out! Kids were in tears and everything but they sorted it. I was quite happy to sit apart from my husband and older son though 😂

You should re-read my post because this never happened

That's great to hear.

What airline was this, out of interest?

So now the whole story... You sat next to your kid

This is the point I was making... You let the impression you was separated from child. Come take off DD was sat next to you.

I gave the whole story at the beginning! You chose to ignore that part and jump down my throat!

Before the thread gets closed I thought I’d review what we have learnt.
If you want to be guaranteed to sit next to anyone, child or not, pay.
If you are prepared to risk it. Don’t pay. Mostly it works out okay ish at least.
If you end up sitting next to someone else’s human, child or not. Help them with their oxygen mask if they need help. That makes you a decent human being.
Having a child sat next to a stranger is not a safeguarding issue unless you sit them next to a child abuser. Which you as a parent chose as a (tiny) risk if you don’t pay to sit together.
Airlines are greedy money scammers who can and will charge for any and every extra they can. We can’t change that.
Choices have consequences.
This topic always creates thread closures. I congratulate this one for getting so far.
But I think it’s days are numbered 😂
