I don’t understand the dirty comment. I’ve stayed here 4 times for 2 weeks each time and never seen a bit of dirt. The layout is a semi circle built around the river so pretty straightforward as well. There’s a couple of bridges. Excellent food court. Really nice quiet pools. Beautiful theme and foliage. Boat to Disney Springs. It is large though and the furthest rooms are a trek to the food court. There’s catch and release fishing if that rocks your boat and Surrey bikes. Nice little young children’s playground. A couple of hammocks. Jogging trail. 10 minute walk to POFQ so you can use their food court too. Decent restaurant. Excellent entertainment in the bar from Ye Haw Bob. Do not miss him!

Where to even start? The food court, huge selection and good quality, lots of seating, you can sit overlooking the marina or the waterwheel.
The resort - we have stayed in Alligator Bayou all 3 times, Magnolia Bend is incredibly pretty, manicured lawns and old Southern charm but AB is small bridges over little ponds of water, meandering pathways, dappled shade from the huge trees and lush greenery. The walk down by the river is a quiet affair and a welcome retreat after visiting the parks. A walk down to French Quarter, grab a quick bite to eat in their food court, wander back at a slow pace. The boat to Disney Springs takes you past Magnolia Bend and French Quarter and you do feel as if you have gone back in time, a time before cars or planes, just a simple boat ride but so pretty. The rooms, we stayed in building 24, then 37 twice, the second time it had literally just opened up after the refurb. You can now fit 2 large cases under each bed and the floor is vinyl plank rather than carpet. The curtain across the sink area allows for privacy when changing if needed. The pull down Murphy bed is great for children who may not wish to share. The buildings are nestled in the greenery of the trees. The quiet pools are a place to relax or if you want a more lively feel then head over to the main pool on Ol Man Island with music and a slide. If you haven't already had a look at portorleans.org then do, if you look at their map and building 37, we were on the top floor next to the 3 of 37, it took 6 minutes to walk from our room door to the door of the food court. We wandered down between buildings 38 and 39 the the river walk to the food court. Probably less than 2 minutes from our room to the bus stop. For us it is home and we will be heading back at some point.

I can’t really add anything to the previous replies but agree that the best thing about POR is the boat to DS.
The food court was great but the food at Boatwright’s not so much (we went two years ago so hopefully it’s improved since then.) I would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed 3 times - 2015, 2017 and 2019. Lodge 24 and twice in lodge 35 (we are a family of 5 so on Alligator Bayou).
We love the quiet pools, the food court and boat to Disney Springs. We love the overall ambience of the resort. We were a little worried before we went this time about dogs as ds1 has a phobia but we never saw one. |

I lived POR, have previously stayed at Pop Century and Caribbean Beach but POR was nicer, so pretty with the river and the boat to Disney Springs was fab. We have since stayed at POFQ and that was even better than POR, much smaller and close to bus stops and food court. I’d recommend both though!
