universal annual passes cheaper than 14 day pass
just been crunching some figures and it looks like its cheaper for our party of 2 adults to buy annual passes to universal than 14 day passes from the uk
our holiday is for sept 2020 and blackout dates won't apply 2x 14 day adult passes cost £289 = £578 4 days parking at £20 per day is £80. grand total of £658 1x seasonal annual pass *£241 and 1x preferred annual pass *£312 = *£553 *excluding tax on the tickets 4 days parking at £20 first day and remaining days are free (preffered pass) grand total of £608 including tax this is a saving of around £50 plus 15% Off The Following: All restaurants (excluding food and beverage carts and alcoholic beverages) and you also have annual passes should you want to return within 12 months am I missing something as its seems better value to buy tickets this way Edited at 11:05 AM. |

Was thinking of going for a week in nov as well as our trip in sept 2020 but was put off by paying for 2 lots of 14 day passes
This would save us nearly £660 in ticket and parking fees if we just did universal for the week Edited at 11:19 AM. |

Just for you to be aware, depending when in November you are thinking of going due to concerts at Universal Studios there are some blackout dates that apply for the seasonal pass only from 17th November onwards.

We are on our second year of Universal passes, love them.
10% discount on food and merchandise for the preferred, 15% for premium passes although sometimes they do just give you the bigger discount. Don't forget annual passholder rates for the hotels as well if avalable. Does end up costing you a fortune though as you sneak in extra trips.

We get a seasonal and a preferred. The seasonal has VB blocked from april through the summer and universal parks july and Aug. Be vigilant when you are going. If you want free parking and discounted merch and food you'll need the prefered. Seasonal is very limited on discounts.

If you are going to VB even once it might work out cheaper to get 2x14 days possibly? But then extra parking might offset it. It's close though.
The discounts in park on food etc may too it over and cheaper hotel rates poss too. Sorry - this only applies if thinking of one trip. If two or more it's a no brained as long as blackout dates don't catch you. Edited at 01:43 PM. |

don't forget about exchange rate, bank fees if applicable, and all that stuff
as of today, with the current exchange rate, your $745 AP price comes to £596 meaning if you bought today, you'll only be saving around £12 not £50 still ... better in your pocket ... but for this, you are missing out on volcano bay so you're basically missing out on a park, for £6 per person ... sure the discounts would help building the savings as for parking, you'd still pay if you are staying onsite. And, if you get an AP, staying onsite could become an option if it's not currently one, because of the "up to" 30% discount on hotels with APH rates if there are some for your visit. more complicated than it seems, and your calculations only work if you're not fussed on volcano bay. last thing, the opportunity for one more trip within 12 months is one thing, but first off, you're not sure you can squeeze one in, and second, you're not sure, if you can fit one in, that it won't be in blockout periods. so, unless you have plans for a second visit, don't include that in the decision process.
