We stayed at a place called Times Square Inns and Suites - the link is here.

timessquaresuites/en-gb

We really like it. We had an apartment with a large bedroom and then a seperate room which was perfect for our then 16 year old (bed, own tv etc... ) - sure it was called ‘one bedroom and den Robson’ had washing machine and open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Handy for places as on Robson Street near Stanley Park with bike hire places with the added bonus of a front desk who booked us a cab to the airport and stored our luggage on the last day.

There is a Starbucks right downstairs, large Safeway’s across the road if you want to cook ( we did the a few times ) lots of take out and restaurants close by too, we loved it.

We stayed here too and absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend for the facilities and comfort of the accommodation, the service from the staff and the excellent location. Loved being able to walk to Stanley Park and the beach from here. Supermarket right opposite . If I ever return to Vancouver I will definitely return to Times Square.

We had a car and stayed just south of Charleson Park. Amazing view of the city. It was a great corner suite but was a Holiday inn so no good for you.

On Vancouver island we stayed at the Oak Bay Beach in Victoria. You might want to stay in a couple of locations on the island though as its huge and staying in Victoria alone will restrict what you can visit.

I would recommend Tofino on Vancouver Island - beautiful place.
