Character breakfast
Hi all. DH and I are taking DS (age 3) to DLP for the first time in December. We are considering booking a character breakfast but wondered if anyone could tell me what characters are likely to be there? DS is still new to Disney and only really recognises Mickey, Minnie, Elsa and Anna, so wonder if would be wasted on him. On the other hand, I don’t fancy getting him to queue up for ages to meet these characters.
Also, we have the standard dining plan. Can I pay to upgrade the breakfast? TIA! |

Yes you can pay to upgrade from standard half board to character breakfast. You can either add it to your package with your agent and pay the upgrade fee in advance, or book a table (from 3 days in advance) and pay on the day.
There are two character breakfast options - Plaza Gardens which includes classic characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Tigger and Daisy or a Princess Breakfast where you will meet three princesses. However this doesn’t usually include Ana or Elsa, it’s the likes of Cinderella, Snow White and Belle. Hope that helps. |

Just as a follow up, in terms of seeing Anna and Elsa they have a float in the parade each day in Disneyland Park, also in November there is a new attraction opening in the Studios called a Frozen celebration. You won’t be able to meet Anna and Elsa but they will feature in a show and sing along.
Olaf will have a meet and greet, this will be a bookable meet via the Lineberty app so best to download before you go. |

The standard line up in Plaza Gardens for breakfast is Mickey, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore - although they do often swap some of these characters out from time to time.
We really enjoy the buffet at this breakfast, lots of choice and it's all replenished frequently. At the princess breakfast we saw Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White - to be honest, we were very underwhelmed with this experience. Whilst I enjoyed the food by Daughter hardly ate a thing and we found the character interaction was very poor and rushed. We definitely wouldn't hurry back. |

As above, you’re unlikely to meet Anna and Elsa (although it is possible - Elsa had an unscheduled meet in the DLH when we were there for Christmas 2017.)
It sounds like your DS would enjoy the Plaza Gardens breakfast, so maybe you could watch a few Disney films or TV shows with him before you go. You’ll probably get the main Disney fur characters and Winnie the Pooh characters, so those would be good choices for films and shows - we met Mickey, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger.
