We bought Ł700 a couple of weeks ago at $1.21 so it was bound to go up
TUI staff rate is now $1.24 (my friend works there!) so DH is annoyed that I pushed him when it started to look like it was going under $1.2! On todays rate it would have been an extra Ł20 in the pot |

I bought at just over 1.23 from Sainsbury’s on Fri.
Mainly because we don’t know what’s going to happen to Brexit in the run up to 31 Oct and how it might affect exchange rates. Apologies if I sound alarmist. I’m the type of person who likes certainty, I don’t need to worry now. |

I bought some Euros a couple of weeks ago to pay for our hotel in November. Euro rate now gone up and may not be going now as flights with TC! But worse things happen and in the grand scheme of what we all spend on holidays, a few cents extra to the pound doesn’t make a huge difference

I bought at 1.22 and am quite relaxed about the possibility of it going higher. I dont anticipate a huge change & as we are in the US at Brexit day (I know this could change) I prefer the certainty of my budget.
Will still need to use my cc for some things anyway. |

Get a Revolut card. You can then load it with sterling as it is a debit not a credit card. Then add the currencies you want. I just have sterling and dollars but you can choose any currencies. Then you can put an an auto exchange on. It has hit 1.25 a couple of times in the past week. I have alerts on at 1.25 and 1.26. You then use the card it the US. It's absolutely brilliant.
