Hi

Wondered if anyone has any experience of visiting Lapland for a few days at Christmas. Just having a look and it seems you can get with TUI for around £500 cheaper than with the specialist travel companies, but are they as good?

Thanks

Hi,

We went to Levi with Tui in 2017 and had a great trip.

The excursions are expensive though.

We went to Levi with TUI in 2015 and it was amazing, TUI were also amazing ! We had loads of extras included in our booking, Santa village ( of course) husky ride, reindeer ride, snowmobiling, loads of other stuff.. we could have skied A’s also a ski resort - we payed extra for the ice hotel!
I love Disney I really do, but this was by far the most magical and beautiful 5 nights away- food was eugh though, but that’s Finland I guess... I’d love to do it again

We went with Transun about 10 years ago. Stayed at the Davi Arctic Lodge in a cabin with a sauna. It was magical and all the meals, snow suits and excursions were included. We did a husky ride, a reindeer ride to see Father Christmas, a skidoo ride, trip to a church to sing carols etc.
So yes it was expensive but didn't cost anything whilst we were there.

We went to Lapland and flew with TUI to Kuusamo last December. Lovely place as a one off - almost threatened to be cancelled due to lowest snow fall for decades but thankfully it picked up a week or so before we departed.

As others have said - be prepared to pay extra for the excursions. We were at a hotel called Holiday Club or something like that. It had a pool and was full board which took some sting out of the cost while there.

Thanks for all the replies, seems like it’s a great experience, how much extra are the experiences roughly? I imagine we will be looking at the husky rides etc?

Sorry but I can’t quite remember but we booked them with the TUI reps once we arrived. We got a free taster Husky ride on the day we visited Father Christmas. We ended up visiting 3 locations that they group you into and rotate between.

They give you an itinerary over there which they hand you on arrival. The gaps in the itinerary are for you to add the half day trips. We visited a Husky farm that that included a ride and a walk round the premises. We also Rode a snow mobile which was really good. If you have little ones they go in a sledge behind and are pulled by the guides.
