Did we make a boo boo?
Long story short we booked Cheyenne for March (23-27 4 nights 5 days) without doing any proper research (I know, silly) and now we’ve realised for £277 more we could have booked New port bay and had the plus dining and a free buffalo bills meal.
Do you think it would be wise for us to try to upgrade today? We will be travelling with our daughter who will be 16 months and eating from our plates. |

You can upgrade if you want, just give them a call.

We've just booked for the week after you, for hubby's birthday (he doesn't know it yet, though!). Whilst the Cheyenne and the Santa Fe are nice, we really love Newport Bay, so as you said for the extra couple of hundred quid, to us, it is worth it. It is a little closer to the parks, and is just gorgeous - the equivalent of a moderate in Florida.
But - up to you! You should be able to upgrade easily, by calling Disney holidays on their 0800 number.

It depends - if you were happy enough with the look of the Cheyenne and I guess you have the standard dining plan included? - the personally I don’t think it’s worth an extra £70 per night to change to the Newport bay. It has to be what you think yourself though.

We managed to ring and upgrade. It actually worked out a little cheaper over the phone too. Better get planning. We’re seasoned WDW travellers but not a clue about DLP so this is a whole new experience for us. Disney in the cold too. That’s gonna be fun! Thanks for all the replies and help. X

We loved Disney in the cold!
(Admittedly, we still loved DLP on our first visit when it was 37 degrees every day, but it was really quite uncomfortable in the heat.) Our second trip was at Christmas and it was perfect - 10 degrees every day, so it was cold enough to feel like Christmas, but mild enough to go without coats at times and never feel uncomfortably cold. We’d happily go back again in December or March (but we’d probably avoid January / February when it’s more likely to be very cold.)
