Standard of townhome - Windsor Hills
I detailed our unhappiness about the longer term cleanliness of a Windsor hills townhome when we arrived at it in our trip report day 7 here at the end.
Although the bathrooms and kitchen were clean and bed laundry had been changed, the general standard of cleanliness was poor. Carpet was really stained, grubby and dusty. Seats - sofa and table chairs - were dirty. Pool was full of hair. Towels were very worn. I felt uncomfortable without shoes on in the house and I was really ill at ease sitting on the sofa. Just sat on the breakfast bar wooden stools instead. DH felt the same. Kids didn't notice too much. If there was heavy rain the water poured into the living room down the seal of the patio door. There was a river flowing down the window and into the channel below. This left a damp smell. We had an iguana in our living room when we returned one evening. We felt these elements were a real let down for an otherwise beautiful resort with a high standard of facilties. Are we over-reacting? We felt that there wasn't much we could do about it whilst there. The reviews were mixed but the owner is very dismissive of negative feedback to the point of stating that it may be lies (for other reviews) A dibb property wasn't an option at booking due to availability, budget and resort choice. It is a shame as the resort was fab 😞 Edited at 10:27 AM. |

All of the things that you mentioned could have been dealt with/fixed/cleaned quickly without much impact on your holiday. Was there any other reason why you didn’t mention it when you were there?
I would definitely have mentioned it at the time and then followed up in a review that it was in a poor state when you arrived. |

It sounds as though the home was in need of a deep clean and that they are not keeping on top of repairs which is always a concern. Did you contact the management company while you were there so that they could take a look at your concerns and act upon them?

Disappointing.
We've used Dave a few times, not had a bad one yet. It's a shame that potentially one bad owner can tarnish the reputation of the rest of the owners under that management co. I'll definately take a note of the unit you used and make sure we don't get it! |
