Mobile How does free half board work?

Hi, We are staying at sequoia lodge in November and have the half board meal plan. I’ve never had a meal plan included before and I have absolutely no idea how it works.

I presume that the plan included is the standard plan and that we can use it at the standard buffets only but it also says it’s valid at our hotel which is a plus buffet.
The information online isn’t very helpful can any of you seasoned pro’s help us out?

If you are staying in Sequoia lodge you will get the half board plus plan not the standard. You will be able to choose from a lot more restaurants than the standard plan.

This guide contain info about the different plans and menus.

Hi, we have only just realised that we have the Standard plan as we are staying at Santa Fe. Does anyone know if we can use this towards a table service meal or are we only able to go to buffet restaurants?
I guess we could upgrade at the hotel to the Plus plan maybe?
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can use the cash value of the standard vouchers (€29 for adults, around €16 for kids) towards the cost of table service meals.

Thanks Stubbs86, that’s good news as buffet every day is a bit much!

If you’ve paid for the plan, you should be able to upgrade to Plus if that would be better for the restaurants you want to eat in. If it’s the free plan, I believe the T&Cs state that you can upgrade from free standard half board to standard full board, but not to any kind of Plus or Premium.

I wouldn’t worry though - your plan to use your dining credits towards table service restaurants is a good idea anyway. It might be better value too, if you’re still planning to go to a few standard buffets.

You can use the standard free voucher at the plus restaurants, you just pay the difference and you lose the free drink.
