Currently I’m 2% woman and 98% DEET

We have started taking b1 and garlic capsules, takes a while to get into your system but it can’t harm and we still have 2 weeks left here

We are using 95% DEET, avoiding dawn and dusk outside. None of us are wearing any fragrances

Skin so soft doesn’t work - I think they actually like it

Benadryl extra strength is good for the itch and bring a good non drowsy antihistamine

The bitey things are out in force because of all the wet weather

Hope this post helps someone be better prepared than we were

Currently I’m 2% woman and 98% DEET

Hilarious!

When we were there last year I got absolutely eaten! Then I was glamourisly caked in calamine cream - we lit lots of citronella candles by the pool and didn't going anywhere without Eau De Deet! 😂

After having cellulitis from being bitten at Anna Maria Island and twice after being bitten in the UK I now use picardin spray. It is supposed to be as effective as deet without the smell or nasty side effects. Never been bitten when using it.

I did really well 2 weeks ago with only one bite until we had dinner at The Swordfish Grill. Got bitten multiple times on legs. Small red bites that within 24 hours were huge, red and itchy. They settled after a couple of days to look like bruises.

First stop for me is either Walmart or Publix. I get Cutters Outdoorsman repellant, been using it since getting badly bitten back in 2002 when I stupidly walked across a grassy area after dusk outside the Animal kingdom. I find Cutters Outdoorsman or similar works a treat.
