Has anyone stayed at Premier Inn Kings Cross? It's not down a quiet dark alley is it? 😟

Come out of Kings X front entrance, turn left (main road beside station, McDonald's on corner) 50 yards on right. A 2 minute walk.
Kings X had a bad reputation donkeys years ago, but now it's a good area. They did up both the stations, lots of development was done on the area, and there's a lot of tech companies now there- Google is still building it's main office building, the lift shaft is nearly done.

You could eat in the PI restaurant if you want. Great meal deal and your breakfast is free if you have that.

Are you coming into Euston? You can walk to Kings Cross from there. Which Premier Inn are you staying at? London is safe. Particularly between Euston and Kings Cross.

Hi all, yes we'll arrive at Euston then the next morning get the Eurostar at st pancras. I figured staying somewhere between the two would stop we worrying about getting lost or missing trains etc. PI Euston seems ro be on the main road half way between each but not sure about the noise being on the main drag. PI kings cross might be quieter? How do we get a cab safely to British museum?

If you come out of Euston and turn left, St Pancras is a 10 min walk. You are correct in PI Euston is roughly half way (bit closer to St Pancras). Its over the road on the right walking from Euston.
Both PIs are on fairly main roads, I haven't stayed in either but the Kings X one is probably quieter as the road isn't as busy. In case you're not aware St Pancras is adjacent to Kings X and only 5 mins ish from both hotels. The black cabs sit opposite the Kings X Premier Inn. |

I understand how you feel - I was the same when I took my daughter to London for a couple of days this summer. I just had to keep reminding myself of all the people who live and work in London, and that if this was my every day life, I wouldn’t be going round expecting trouble every second of the day. We were fine, all the people who’ve gone to London in the month since then have also been fine (other than normal incidents that you’d have anywhere) and even if something does happen, the chances of it being in the very spot you’re in, at the very moment you’re there are so minimal as to be almost impossible. I know the worry will always be there, but try not to let it spoil your holiday.

London is a safe and vibrant city. We spend lots of time and the very best way to explore is to walk. You will see that London is full of people who live and work here and coming across small squares and gardens is always a joy.
Look forward to your trip and make the most of it. There are lots of small restaurants around the area of the British Museum and I have never once felt unsafe. If you do decide to take a cab you can either get an uber or just put your hand out on the street to summon a black cab that has it's yellow light on to indicate that it is available. |
