Alamo additional charge

Hello,

Does anyone else get an additional charge after returning the car to Alamo? I thought nothing of it but we've been 3 times this year and each time we've been changed an additional fee of between 50 and 80 USD. I called the US contact centre and they couldn't tell me what it was so I'm waiting for the MCO office to get back to me. On each occasion ww prepaid for a Standard SUV with toddler and child seats, no additional upgrades and on each return they told us there would be no additional charge. Also it isn't tolls as these appear as Alamo Tolls on my statement.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I have never had additional charges. I would send the MCO office one E Mail and if no response get your credit card company to reclaim the charges as they are unauthorised.

Could it be that you returned the car without a full tank of fuel and they are charging you to fill it up?

I have had that. But I now get a statement print off them when returning the car that states any excess charges, I also ask. As the fuel is very subjective in my view. Depends who looks at the gauge it been a tad under and they can charge you!

Download your receipt from alamo/en_US/car-rental/receipts.html and it'll show what the charge is for. $82 would be the child seat charge. ($70 + taxes)

I got charged extra last year when we went ,on receiving my credit card bill I contacted them and it was because I returned the car later than I put on my booking a simple mistake by me ... but they refunded me even though it was my fault could it be that ?

When you return the car they give you a receipt with what they have charged you, that would be the idea time to ask questions and get answers.

Got a call from Alamo and they have refunded the charges. It was for prepaid fuel but they had incorrectly charged twice. All sorted now, thank you for the help.
